Some of the items you had to look for in the scenes were a bit archaic, but most were easy to find. The puzzles/minigames had a nice variety to them, though none were terribly difficult, and the story was passable. It was fun for a play through like every one of this companies games have been. It's also easy to pick up and play for a half hour and then leave or just let run in the background, which is why my playtime is a bit higher than others. All in all, definitely worth playing through if you're a fan of the other Artifex Mundi games.. An uneven but still enjoyable hidden object adventure. On the positive side, this was a simple and fun experience, great for those who enjoy the genre. The hidden object puzzles in particular were very well done. Overall, the game had mostly nice graphics, and provided a decent variety of puzzles. In addition, I didn't experience any technical difficulties, so it was a pretty smooth experience in that regard.A few things about the game bothered me. For one, a lot of the spoken dialogue didn't match up with subtitles, especially with the villain. Some of the graphics were a bit wonky too; specifically, several of the characters' faces appeared much less polished than others, which was a bit jarring. These issues certainly weren't game-breaking though, merely distracting.Also of note: There is a bonus adventure, as well as collectible object achievements for each section of the game.. Decent HOG, nothing special, fun little game.(Never pay attention to my play times, because I tend to leave games running while I do other things.)The art is good, the music gets a little repetitive, but is otherwise good.There is limited voice acting, and it's fine (though Prince Henrik is distinctly wooden - I thought it matched his personality).The story is linear and clich\u00e9, but the HO scenes are well done. Everything works, all the collectables are very find-able.Bottom line: get it on sale to complete your set; play it to have fun, not for a challenge; easy and relaxingPS The bonus chapter is *very* short. Personally, I thought he made a better statue.. This game has me a bit on the fence. It's not an amazing game but it's not a horrible game either. It feels like an older Artifex Mundi game so I won't factor in the age for my review since I'm just happy to have a chance to play another fun game. But I will say right now, get this game on sale only.The story is the worst part of the game. You play a beautiful queen, marry a guy, have a baby and it's kidnapped. That's about as deep as the story goes. None of the characters are fleshed out or have much personality and the story is cliche. Even after learning why the villain kidnapped the baby I felt very uninterested. Near the end he gives you the option to join him or die, I really wanted to see how the game would be if I could have joined him! But nope, it all ends the way you'd expect. The bonus chapter, which is very short and uneventful, requires you to save your husband from his stone prison. No epic quest either, just three areas of the castle.Story aside, the gameplay is good. The mini games offer a challenge as well as a headache. The hidden object scenes are also entertaining. My only gripe would be that certain objects in the hidden item scenes will blink and change shapes so you have to catch it at certain times. Not exactly hard but a little annoying. But that it's enough for me to dislike the game. The mini games and hidden object scenes were the only thing keeping me playing.But, it is a short game and it's not too hard to collect all the achievements for it. The voice acting is shoddy and the cut scenes are dated but aside from that, the game is aesthetically pleasing. I would certainly recommend other Artifex Mundi games before this one, but if you grab it on sale or in a bundle then enjoy the game and ignore the story.. Short but fun. I've played all the Artifex Mundi games released on Steam and this is one of their weakest. Besides the usual quality graphics, and a solid selection of puzzles, there's not much going for this game.The "plot" in this game is atrocious; it's so derivative and nonsensical. The "complications" in the story aren't thought out very well and the whole story seems like an afterthought. Artifex Mundi usually produces titles with a better story than this.If you're into Hidden Objects games JUST for the puzzles and hidden objects, then by all means, try this out. But if you care even a little bit about the plot or characters, you might want to skip this one and try one of their other titles.
